What is NanoInfoline.com?

NanoInfoline is on open portal that provides all current research papers categorized and listed into various relevant research fields within the topic of nanoscience and technology.

NanoInfoline keeps researchers up-to-date with the latest literature, easily and more efficiently, by providing aggregated and organized listings of research findings and papers gathered from leading journals with daily updates. It provides a discussion section with every paper where one can post comments/questions. Authors or other experts in that field can respond and explain the details helping the community better understand the paper.

NanoInfoline is started by graduate students of Chemistry, Physics, Material Science and Engineering with a vision to bring all nano-scientists to one platform and foster discussions and understanding among the community.

Why NanoInfoline?
1. Research papers from all the journals need to be categorized and listed in an organized manner:The existing research community produces huge volumes of research papers everyday spread over a large number of journals. How can one keep up-to-date with all the recent work in their research field? Should he/she spend hours every day visiting all the journals and in order to filter out the relevant papers? This is so tiresome and tedious that many of us prefer not to do it at all. As a result, we lose track of our own research field and we have hardly any familiarity with other research areas. Jack Sandweiss, a physics professor at Yale University, explains this problem in his essay that appeared in the May 11, 2009 issue of Physical Review Letters.
2. Published research work needs more discussion in an open community platform:Understanding all the new scientific ideas presented in a research paper is often difficult, especially for someone new to the field. There is a need for a forum in which research papers can be discussed with peers and which would also give the authors a chance to explain the intricacies in greater detail apart from the publication, where space and scope is limited in current system. Recently, Toby Murcott, Boyce Rensberger, and Nadia El-Awady highlighted this problem in the June 25, 2009 issue of Nature.
What does NanoInfoline do?
-  NanoInfoline lists the latest (ASAP, early view, AOP, etc.) publications in various 'Research Area' categories with daily updates from leading journals.

-  All papers can be discussed in the comment section associated with the paper or separately in the 'Nano-Forums'.

-  NanoInfoline makes searching for papers easier, as it can be searched using title, authors, key words etc. in specific areas.

-  Lists publications in relevant research areas and brings more knowledge to the platform for discussion.

-  NanoInfoline research categories provide a list of leading research groups working in that field.

-  Lists all nanoscience and technology conferences and their details to help members organize their yearly calendar.

-  All conferences and their details are listed to help researchers organize their yearly calendar.

-  Provide Discussion sections associated with papers, blogs, forums, and conferences to help researchers exchange information.

-  Lists recent news and magazine articles about nano research.

-  Nano-Witter enables the NanoInfoline community to stay connected with peer scientists and follow each others' activities by micro-blogging.

How does NanoInfoline work?
Research Areas:  NanoInfoline has divides nanoscience and nanotechnology into 18 categories. Each category has four sections: Research Papers, Professors, Community, and Forum.

-  Papers appearing in most of the leading journals are categorized and listed into their relevant research area categories. Papers have comment section to discuss the paper.

-  Professors working in the respective area are listed in this section.

-  Scientists working in the respective research areas can join communities of those areas.

-  There are forums to discuss research topics and papers in each research category.

Your   feedback, is welcomed to help us better organize the nano research and papers.

Research Papers: All the latest (ASAP, early view, accelerated, AOP, etc.) papers appearing in high impact journals in nano research are listed on this page and updated daily. All papers can be rated and they have a comments section to promote discussion. A comprehensive list of journals from which the research papers are drawn is provided at the end this session. (anchor it to the journal list given at the bottom of this about us)

Nano Forums:  All latest forum activities taking place in all the research categories are listed on this page. This list will help one browse through the latest discussions in any research area.

Nano Blogs:  The NanoInfoline community can blog about their perspectives on any nanoscience topic.

Communities:  Members can join communities dedicated to their research area and interact with their peers working in the same field.

Conferences:  All nanoscience and nanotechnology conferences are listed to on this page to help researchers organize their yearly calendar. Conference details include conference dates, abstract submission deadlines, registration deadlines, and venue location. Discussion sections for each conference will help users acquire additional information about the conference, such as accommodation sharing, travelling, etc.

Nano Witter:  The NanoInfoline community can communicate and stay connected with fellow scientists through the exchange of quick and frequent updates, status messages, and conversations. Small and basic updates can help peers know more about the science and you.

News:  A plethora of magazines and forums are dedicated to nanoscience, so many that it is impossible to visit all of them to stay up-to-date. NanoInfoline brings news feeds from all the popular news sources to one place with regular updates. One can browse the news and follow the links to read the whole story.

Videos:  Interesting videos can be useful in understanding the nano world. Find videos about nanoscience and technology in this section.
